Biographie de Thanu Padmanabhan
Thanu Padmanabhan is a Professor at Inter-University Center for Astronomy and Astrophysics in Pune, India. His research interests are gravitation, cosmology, and quantum theory. He has published over one hundred technical papers in these areas and written four books: Structure formation in the universe, Cosmology and astrophysics through problems, After the first three minutes and, together with J-V Narlikar Gravity, gauge theories and quantum cosmology. Professor Padmanabhan is a member of the Indian Academy of Sciences, National Academy of Sciences, and International Astronomical Union. He has received numerous awards, including the Shanti Swarup Bhatnagar Prize in Physics (1996) and the Millennium Medal (2000) awarded by the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research, India. He has also written more than one hundred popular science articles, a comic strip serial and several regular columns on astronomy, recreational mathematics, and history of science that have appeared in international journals and papers. He is married, has one daughter, and lives in Pune, India. His hobbies include chess, origami, and recreational mathematics.
