Star Landscape Architecture - The Stars of Landscape and Land Art

This book explores interventions that are notable for theircreative and sensitive design, planning, or management ofthe landscape. The small to medium scale featured projectsaim to promote interaction between people and theenvironment by responding to a broad range of humanhabitats and natural ecosystems in diverse social, culturaland ecological contexts. In their response to context theseprojects evolve into Land Art, which is to be understood asa fusion between sculpture, architecture, and landscapearchitecture.
The goal is to draw out the emotions of thespectator who is confronted by these environments. Thestructure of this book is inspired by the poet's journey inDante Alighieri�s The Divine Comedy, from which we borrowthe narrative structure and symbolic landscapeimagery: The circles of Hell, the terraces of MountPurgatory and the celestial spheres of Heaven.
