Slim Aarons (1916-2006) is regarded as one of the most influential magazine photographers of his generation. He crisscrossed the globe for decades photographing celebrities and high society on assignment for Life, Harper's Bazaar, Town & Country, Look, Venture, and Travel & Leisure. He published his first book, A Wonderful Time, in 1974. In addition to Slim Aarons : Style, Abrams has published five other books on his work : Once Upon a Time (2003), A Place in the Sun (2005), Poolside with Slim Aarons (2007), La Dolce Vita (2012), and Women (2016).
Shawn Waldron is a New York-based archivist and curator with a lifelong passion for photography. He brings twenty years of experience to his dual role as curator of the Getty Images Gallery and the Slim Aarons archive. Prior to joining Getty Images, Waldron served as director of the Condé Nast Archive, where he had a front-row seat to the history of fashion and style. Kate Betts is an award-winning magazine editor and the author of the New York Times bestseller My Paris Dream : An Education in Style, Slang, and Seduction in the Great City on the Seine.
Betts has been covering the world of style for twenty-five years. The youngest person ever to serve as editor in chief of Harper's Bazaar, she is also the author of Everyday Icon : Michelle Obama and the Power of Style.
