Die Shona Mass, eine afrikanische Messe, wurde komponiert im Geiste der Chormusik, die in der Episcopal Cathedral Harare in Simbabwe im Sommer des Jahres 1993 zu hören war. "Shona" ist der Name des größten Stammes in diesem afrikanischen Land sowie auch die Bezeichnung für die Sprache, die seine Mitglieder sprechen. Akakomborerwa ist eine Übersetzung des "Benedictus" der lateinischen Messe in Shona.
