According to this reference, Stefan Heucke's Préludes are tributes to the three great piano composers of the 19th century : Chopin, Liszt and Schumann. By tradition, each of Heucke's 12 Préludes starts from a different keynote while attempting, however, to use major and minor modes at the same time in constantly new combinations.
