Biographie d'Ernst Lothar
Ernst LOTHAR (1890-1974), écrivain viennois proche d'Arthur Schnitzler, Stefan Zweig et Max Reinhardt, quitte l'Autriche en 1938, en raison de ses origines juives. Réfugié à New York, il fonde l'Austrian Theater. De retour après la guerre comme conseiller du gouvernement américain en charge de la dénazification culturelle, Ernst Lothar reprend ses collaborations théâtrales, dirige le Burgtheater et termine l'écriture de Revenirà Vienne, très inspiré de sa propre expérience.
