Whether they chose the millennium ending at 1000 A.D. by accident or design is unclear, but the outcome of their labour is particularly fascinating. The Yearbook surveys achievements in Astronomy during the first millennium, and looks at the latest astronomical instruments. It also features a review of a new Star Atlas, and a seminal paper on the properties of light. Allan Chapman is a historian at the University of Oxford. All the history in this book - as far as can be known - is accurate. Neither of the authors would have it otherwise.
