Jean-Louis Cohen
Architecte et historien, professeur à l'Institute of Fine Arts de New York University. Jean-Louis Cohen dirige l'institut français d'architecture et le musée des Monuments français, dans la perspective de la création de la Cité de l'architecture et du patrimoine. Ses recherches portent sur l'architecture et l'urbanisme du XXe siècle en France, en Allemagne, en Russie et aux Etats-Unis, sur les formes de l'internationalisation et sur les cultures régionales ainsi que sur la modernisation de Paris, Il a notamment publié : Le Corbusier et la mystique de l'URSS (Mardaga, 1987) ; Des fortifs ou périf (avec André Lortie, Picard, 1992) ; Mies von der Rohe (Hazan, 1994) ; Scènes de lu vie future (Flammarion, 1996) ; Les Années 30 (Editions du Patrimoine, 1997) ; Casablanca, mythes et figures d'une aventure urbaine (avec Monique Eleb, Hazan, 1998).
Monique Eleb
Psychologue et sociologue, professeur à l'école d'architecture Paris-Villemin et cofondatrice, en 2000, de l'école Paris-Malaquais, Monique Eleb dirige le laboratoire Architecture, culture, société et le DEA inter-écoles d'architecture Le Projet architecturai et urbain. Ses recherches portent sur la sociologie et la généalogie de l'habitation et sur l'analyse des tendances contemporaines de l'architecture de l'habitation. Elle a notamment publié : Penser l'habité (avec Anne-Marie Châtelet et Thierry Mandoul, Mardaga, 1988) ; Architectures de la vie privée ; maisons et mentalités. XVIIe-XIXe siècles (avec Anne Debarre, AAM, 1989) ; L'invention de l'habitation moderne : Paris, 1880-1914 (avec Anne Debarre, AAM/Hazan, 1995) ; Urbanité, sociabilité, intimité. Des logements d'aujourd'hui (avec Anne-Marie Châtelet, Editions de L'Epure, 1997) ; Casablanca, mythes et figures d'une aventure anodine (avec Jean-Louis Cohen, Hazan, 1998) ; Entre voisins. Dispositifs architecturaux et mixité sociale (avec Jean-Louis Violeau, Editions de L'Epure, 2000). Elle est l'auteur de onze films, pour La Cinquième, sur l'architecture de l'habitat.
Antonio Martinelli
Photographe italien, Antonio Martinelli a obtenu le diplôme de l'Institut d'architecture de Venise en 1979 avec un mémoire sur l'Inde, pays sur lequel il réalise plusieurs livres et de nombreux reportages. Il collabore, depuis 1978, avec le Touring Club italien à des livres et à des guides notamment sur l'Italie et, depuis 1980, avec la revue japonaise A + U, à des monographies sur l'architecture mondiale. Il a notamment publié : Carlo Scarpa Architect, Mario Botta Architect. The 20th Century Architecture and Urbanism: Milano (A + U, 1985, 1986, 1991) : L'Arsenale di Venezia (Marsilio, 1983) ; The Royal Palaces of Indic (Thames & Hudson, 1994) ; Voyages en Inde (Citadelles & Mazenod, l998) ; Oriental Scenery Two Hundred Yeats of Indics Artistic and Architectural Heritage (Timeless Books, 1999).
Jean-Louis Cohen
The French architect and historian Jean-Louis Cohen, who teaches at the institute of Fine Arts, New York University, is also Director of the French Institute of Architecture and the Museum of French Monuments in Paris. He is responsible for the planned merger of the latter two institutions as the National Architecture and Heritage Center. His research work has centred on 20th-century architecture and planning in France, Germany, Russia and the United States, on the architectural forms taken by internationalisation and regional cultures, and on the modernisation of Paris. Monique Eleb
The French psychologist and sociologist Monique Eleb, who teaches at the Paris-Villemin School of Architecture and co-founded the Paris-Malaquais School of Architecture in 2000, is Director of the Architecture, culture, société research unit, She is also Director of the French post-graduate programme Le Projet architectural et urbain, Her research work centres on the sociology and genealogy of housing and on the analysis of contemporary trends in the architecture of housing. Her published work includes: Penser l'habité (with Anne-Marie Châtelet and Thierry Mandoul, Mardaga, 1988); Architectures de la vie privée: maisons et mentalites XVIIe-XXe siècles (with Anne Debarre, AAM, 1989); L'invention de l'habitation moderne: Paris 1880-1914 (with Anne Debarre, AAM/Hazan, l 995); Urbanité, sociabilité, intimité. Antonio Martinelli
The Italian photographer Antonio Martinelli obtained a diploma from the Venice Institute of Architecture in 1979 for a thesis on India, a country on which he has published several books and where he has undertaken numerous photographic campaigns.
