Biographie de Jan Morris
Jan Morris wrote her first book about the United States in 1953, and bas visited the country every year since. Her later works have included an evocation of Manhattan as it was in the year 1945 and a study of the port of New York. She bas also written books about the climax and decline of the British Empire, and about Europe during the last half of the twentieth century, besides studies of Wales, Spain, Venice, Oxford, Hong Kong and Sydney, a capricious biography of Admiral Lord Fishers, RN, six volumes of collected travel essays, two volumes of autobiography and a novel, Last Letters from Hav, about an imaginary Levantine city. She is an honorary D.Litt. of the universities of Wales and Glamorgan and an honorary FRIBA.
