Jean Pierre Boon studied at the University of Brussels and at the University of Chicago. He has been FNRS Research Fellow and Professor at the University of Brussels since 1975. He is a former Visiting Professor at Bell Telephone Laboratories, at the Kernforschungsanlage Jülich, at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and at the University of Nice. J.P. Boon's main field of research is statistical physics. He is the co-author of Molecular Hydrodynamics by J.P. Boon and S. Yip. Jean-Pierre Rivet received his Ph.D. in 1988 from the University of Nice for work on theoretical and numerical aspects of lattice gas hydrodynamics. Since then, he has been working on applications of the lattice gas method to computational fluid dynamics. Since 1996 he has worked on relativistic stochastic processes and statistical physic, in collaboration with researchers at the Laboratory of Radio-Astronomy of the Ecole Normale Supérieure (Paris). In addition to his research activity, he has given several courses in Physics and Astronomy at the University of Paris VI, and at the University of Nice. He is currently a CNRS researcher at the Observatoire de la Côte d'Azur (Nice).
