This book has been written for the benefit of lawyers, law students and business students wishing to acquire a technical legal vocabulary and a knowledge of common law legal principles. Written in a clear and accessible style, the book can be used by teachers working in a class environment or by students studying alone. The book is divided into ten chapters and each chapter into five parts : Information ; Grammar ; Speaking ; Translations ; Technical knowledge. An emphasis is placed on the acquisition of technical vocabulary and own language equivalent vocabulary is provided so as to allow for increased understanding. In this way it is hoped to positively impact the ability of the non-anglophone lawyer to work in English. Dr. Patrick B Griffin is a qualified lawyer and works as a lecturer with the University Paris-Est. He has published a number of books in the areas of European law, financial services law and contract law as well as numerous articles. Dr. Griffin has also worked as a lawyer and as a professional trainer in the field of international/comparative contract law.
