This comprehensive, interdisciplinary collection examines disability from a theoretical perspective. Dan Goodley is Professor of Disability Studies and Education at the University of Sheffield, UK. His research and teaching aim to shake up dominant myths in psychology as well as contribute, in some small way, to the development of critical disability studies theories that understand and eradicate disablism. His recent publications include Psychology and Disability (co-edited with Rebecca Lawthom) and Disability Studies : An Interdisciplinary introduction.
Bill Hughes is Dean of the School of Law and Social Sciences at Glasgow Caledonian University, UK. He is co-author of The Body, Culture and Society : An Introduction and a member of the editorial board of Disability and Society. Lennard Davies is Distinguished Professor of Arts and Sciences in the Departments of Disability and Human Development, English, and Medical Education at the University of Illinois, USA.
He is the author of Enforcing Normalcy : Disability, Deafness, and the Body, Bending Over Backwards : Disability and Other Difficult Positions and Obsession : A History.
