The concerto, dating from 1997-99, is "in a highly taut style which travels at a quickstep through all the possibilities of the instrument" (Diapason magazine). It has been recorded by Anssi Karttunen with the Philharmonia Orchestra conducted by Esa-Pekka Salonen, for Sony.
