Caspar (Gaspard) Kummer (1795 - 1870) was a flutist and court kapellmeister of the chapel orchestra of the Duke of Saxony-Coburg-Gotha. His compositions were highly popular at the time, and so was his flute tutor and the duets, trios and quartets he composed for the flute - probably intended for instruction purposes - which give proof of his high instrumental and musical skills. This elegant and charming work begins with a playful allegro followed by a plain theme with variations before the Concertino is concluded by a virtuoso part. Instrumentation : flute, violin (oboe, clarinet) and piano op. 101
