Biographie d'Alan Baxendale
Alan S. Baxendale was the first professional educator to serve as Chief Education Officer to the Secretary of State at the Home Office (1967–1985). During his tenure, he made lasting improvements to prison education programmes, for which he received an honorary MA from The Open University in 1981. He was awarded an OBE on his retirement in 1985 and went on to complete an Mphil at Queen Mary, University of London.
He passed away in October 2010.
