This book is about the Native Americans during Colonial times and the kidnapping of white women and children.  This was a common practice to replace their tribal members who had died from disease or war.  However, some captives were assimilated into the tribes and learned to love their Indian families.   Many who were given the chance to return to their white families made the decision to stay with their Indian families.  There are many reasons for this which we will explore in this book.  Also read the accounts of real female captives in history who choose their Indian families.  There are interesting accounts from former captives that many were treated with kindness and love by their Indian families.   Historically, many Europeans choose the Indian lifestyle, but very few Indians ever choose white civilization.
