When I Was A Boy

Today's world is filled with all modern conveniences. Children can't imagine a time without electricity, television, or even a daily newspaper. Mobile has formed an integral part of human body. Yet, not so long ago, life in small villages was shaped by simplicity and challenges that seem unimaginable today. This storybook invites you into my childhood, where nights were illuminated by the soft glow of oil lamps.  Darkness outside filled our minds with tales of spirits and devils.
It was a world where news travelled slowly. Village was our entire universe-a place rich in traditions, yet humble in resources. Through these stories, I share with my granddaughter, and with you, the essence of a life that was both difficult and delightful. We played in the open fields. We also celebrated festivals with the entire village, and valued the privilege of even the most basic schooling.
Though our village was materially poor, it was abundant in community spirit and close-knit relationships. As you journey through these memories, I hope you'll gain insight into a way of life that, while different from today's, was full of meaning, joy, and resilience. May these stories remind us all of the beauty in simplicity and the strength found in enduring challenges together.
