More specifically, what do you consider true freedom? No matter your answer, it will involve some level of financial security or cash flow. They told us that going to college, getting a job, getting married, and buying a house would lead to financial freedom. They lied. To become financially independent, you will need to live below your means, reduce expenses, and invest in assets. Doing these things will eventually allow you to live entirely from passive income.
