Authors Cheryl McNeill Fisher and Dr. Kathy King co-host this skill-building podcast for authors. But it's more than a podcast! Kathleen King is an award winning author and editor who has published over 30 books and 200+ articles/papers, of which she founded and edited several journals and book series. She launched her digital media consulting group, Transformation Education, in 1991.
She has been building websites for her clients since the dawn of the web.
In addition to designing websites and digital platforms, she provides private coaching to guide authors through the writing, publishing, and online marketing processes. "Kathy" is a popular keynote 1.11and conference speaker, mentor, and writing consultant. Since 2021 she began cohosting the now widely popular podcast Writing Works Wonders with Cheryl.
This podcast serves as inspiration, encouragement, and skill-building for writers of all skill levels. In the early days of podcasting (2004-2010), she cohosted, and solo hosted several others. Included among these series was the then-popular, Podcasts for Teachers.
As a professor for 30+ years, she was a researcher, administrator, and university educator. While her work has been nonfiction, she is currently launching into science fiction fantasy writing.
Her academic expertise spans adult learning, technology innovations, transformative learning, and instructional technology development.
Her 2018 book, "Technology and Innovation in Adult Learning, " garnered the Textbook Excellence Award from Textbook and Academic Authors. (This book is available in print and digital format at Amazon and also at Bookshare.)
In 2019, Kathy began losing her vision.
Within two years, she was diagnosed with NAION -untreatable damage to the optic nerve, which thrust her into a blurry world called visually-impaired/legal blindness. During this time, Kathy had to make the difficult decision to retire from her professorship.
Kathy has returned to her beloved mountains in Knoxville, Tennessee, where she continues to enjoy writing, podcasting, website development, virtual volunteering, public speaking, and coaching authors to use assistive technology.
