Through the Door

Liz finds out she has a special connection to another world on her eighteenth birthday. Her family for generations has gone through a door to a different realm. It is not just in the past by hundreds of years it also has magic. The family on the other side of the door that has greeted them for generations is no longer there. Liz gets trapped on the other side as it is no longer safe for the door to open.
The High Lords have sent Riders to purge the city of magic. Liz gets swept up as she is found out to be a girl who can read and write. Higher up individuals are interested in this. She meets friends and foes on her journey on the other side while she looks for family. She gets caught up in the war on magic and is instrumental in the fight for the right side. All the time trying to get home.
