Using stories from their own 2006 thru-hike, scripture passages, inspirational quotes, and words of wisdom from Native Americans, the authors describe the spiritual revelations they encountered on the Appalachian Trail."The Walk" draws the many parallels between walking the trail and a "walk of faith" by exploring eight spiritual topics: The Path, Prayer, Perseverance, Family & Community, Praise & Worship, Materialism vs.
Simplicity, Pride & Humility, and Service. Each topic is supported by scriptural references and each is brought into real life perspective through anecdotes from life on the A. T. Each chapter ends with a prayer and a specially-written devotional for personal reflection. Through the pages of this enlightening and thought-provoking book, the reader is transported on an entertaining and soul-searching journey of spiritual understanding and self-awareness.
