Is he really from out of this world or just out of his mind?The last thing Dr. Alessa Brown expects to see while driving home through a raging thunderstorm is a naked man staggering by the side of the road. Thinking there must have been a car accident, Alessa stops to help. The stranger doesn't appear to be injured, but when he claims he's from outer space, Alessa doubts his sanity. Until he displays powers Alessa can't explain.
Kerrith is a Traveler - a visitor to worlds other than his own. One moment he is impartially observing of humanity, and the next he finds himself an unwilling part of it. He doesn't know what happened to trap him inside this human body, and worse, he has no idea how to return to his own form. Alessa cautiously agrees to help Kerrith solve the mystery of what joined him to his host, and soon finds herself charmed by his eagerness to learn everything he can about her world.
At his insistence, Alessa teaches him what it means to be human - lessons about life and love. But as they become more emotionally involved, Alessa wonders if it's Kerrith she's falling for, or the man whose body he occupies. When the strain of Kerrith's otherworldly presence threatens to destroy his host, Alessa re-doubles her efforts to find a way to return Kerrith to his own form. If she fails, she risks losing both the men who've somehow taken possession of her heart.
