The Rate of Exchange

Lacy almost rules her high school. The beautiful brunette is the most popular girl in school, cheerleader, prom queen and dating the quarterback of the football team but she has one area of weakness, her academic aptitude. She is very close to not graduating with her senior class. To compound her problem with grades, she is staring down a deadline on a research paper that the due tomorrow. She had hired a student to do the paper for her and it seemed to be a lock, until she learned the computer her paper was saved on had crashed, and now she had just hours to come up with a paper, because a passing grade depended on that paper.
She is forced to go hat in hand to the one person she loathed, Kim. When Lacy finds Kim in the library, the cute Korean girl is less than receptive to her request. After a few heated exchanges, the two discuss what it would take to have Kim provide her with a paper. Kim asks what she had planned to the student who had attempted to help. She finds out it's a paltry sum and assures Lacy a request like this at the 11th hour would cost much more.
When Lacy finds out what Kim is asking, she realizes it will cost her dearly.
