I started my university years as a STEM major. It took me a semester to realize that I had absolutely no idea what I actually wanted to do with my life in terms of a career. I knew I wanted to help people, but I had no passion for math and science. It was through taking courses in the English department that I remembered my passion for reading and writing. I realized that I could make a difference with my words rather than my hands.
My goal with my work is to entertain while shedding light on topics that are usually misunderstood. As a woman, a person of color, and a member of the LGBTQ+ community, I am working towards a future where the unheard voices of the past are keynote speakers.
