The Fear

Set in London and Essex in the 1970's and 1980's, this story follows the fortunes of Brian Adams, a young man who sees himself as a rather ordinary bloke who just wants to live a quiet life. By chance, he becomes one of the early pioneers of marijuana cultivation at home. Although he seems to have the ability to produce plants of outstanding quality, he is never quite able to reap the benefits of his success due to the fact that he suffers from intermittent, acute bouts of paranoia.
As a remedy he decides to move to the imagined safety of an English country village where he hopes to realize his dream of a quiet life in an environment where he can get as stoned as he likes but without the paranoia. After moving to what appears to be the ideal location in a secluded, picturesque village in the Essex countryside, he soon discovers that things are not quite what they seem.
