Hudhafah as-Sadig, after coming home from fighting in Afghanistan with the Muhajideen against the Russian invaders and then becoming an intern at a bank in Paris while completing a degree in economics at the Decartes University attending night classes, becomes wealthy making stock market investments. He returns home to Dubai where he is blackmailed into making investments for one of the rich and affluent men in Dubai who forces him to commit the crime of insider trading. The story that "The Breath of a Camel" tells begins as Hudhafah successfully makes the investments but is kidnapped by a group of jihadists who want Hudhafah, the Afghanistan Holy Warrior war veteran, to become the poster boy for their cause, detonating a nuclear device in downtown Manhattan. Hudhafah is against the worldwide ramifications of a detonated atomic bomb in New York, particularly after Hudhafah learns that the plot to blow up New York has had help from higher up wealthy sources. "Camel" tells the story of one man's fight to prevent the nuclear extinction of the planet.
