Her name was Summer Sunshine Rae, but the world called her Sunny Rae. Wherever she went, the sun would always shine with not even a cloud, let alone rain in sight. On her sixteenth birthday was the day she first met Declan 'Thunder' McCloud. On her eighteenth, she left home with only a note left for her parents. That night Declan once again appeared to assist her. Soon after he disappeared again after dumping her in the nearest town.
A while later, he reappears to save her, before once again leaving her. This time he took her all the way to the desert, where she met those who could help her. She began working in the local bakery and started learning about the importance she had to the weather around her. Finding out that her emotions could carve craters into the land changed things. With Declan's return comes change and an attachment to him that she had tried to ignore.
With him teaching her about the volatility of sunshine but not accepting her, she's left devastated once more. This becomes a journey of discovery for them both. Can tough, hard Declan ever find a soft spot for such a ray of sunshine as Summer?
