I figured I'd make it in ten minutes. I recognized the buildings, and it turned out that it was Joe, a recently retired lieutenant EMT who'd spent fourteen years at Station 38, next door to Kings County Hospital. #4 Joe was a great lieutenant, and I enjoyed working under him.
He allowed me to do my job, and if I screwed up, he didn't yell or embarrass me in front of people. He quietly talked to me afterward and helped me learn.
