Lt Col Leonard Elersek, M. Eng. Mech., Univ. Spec. in Aeronautics was born in 1968 in Zadar (Croatia). He is a engineering officer of the Croatian Air Force in Zemunik Air Base ner Zadar. He wrote several books about aircraft technology, history of aviation and folklore heritage. He published an English-Croatian aviation dictionary, wrote for professional and popular magazines and collaborated in online encyclopedias.
In 2018, he dedicated himself to editing and translating the brilliant oral literature of the Island of Krk and since 2019, together with Primarius Rado Zic Mikulin, M. D., Ph. D., he publishes several books of folk tales and songs on folklore and mythology.
Primarius Rado Zic Mikulin, M. D., Ph. D., otolaryngologist and cervicofacial surgeon was born in 1936 in Punat in the Island of Krk (Croatia) and lives in Pesnica near Maribor (Slovenia) where he worked in ORL department until he retired.
He was the head of the ORL clinic in Tripoli and published several medical books and articles. Since an early age, he writes and collects the folklore of the Island of Krk. He poured his ancestors' tales into several precious handwritten books, a collection of Chakavian folk songs and a Chakavian dictionary of the local archaic speech. He published many short stories, articles and a children's picture book in popular magazines, and since 2019, together with Lt Col Leonard Elersek he published a series of books, stories and songs, trying to prevent the rich Chakavian folk literature from being forgotten.
