Rosefinch

Rosefinch includes more than 100 poems about dreams by the poet Cao Bo, reflecting the bizarre dreams of his daily life, real things, and people. What comes into these dreams infuses the poet with great inspiration and imagination and provides him with literary enlightenment and creative materials. After being captured in poems, these dreams become a mirror in which the real world can be reviewed, quite like Zhuang Zhou's Dreaming of Becoming a Butterfly (a classic Chinese fable).
Rosefinch is named after a divine being, according to ancient Chinese legends, who guards the south and is covered with fire that remains burning all its life. With strong vitality, Rosefinch embodies good omen and auspiciousness, suggesting the poet's love for literature and his pursuit of light. Shuttling between reality and dream, rationality and sensibility, this work presents a complicated external world and a secret and subtle internal world in a sleep-talking way.
