All the followers of vaidika traditions such as Saivas and Vaish?avas observe this festival with devotion and faith. The Sun is the adorable deity of this festival. He is an object of worship for all classes of people. In a Bhaktidarsana called 'Soura', the sun alone is the supreme deity.
