Charlotte and her brother, Jacob, are thrilled to head off on an adventure in their grandpa's boat, The Seawind. As they set sail for Pirate Island, they look forward to a day of beachcombing, playing pirates and storytelling. Marilyn Helmer was born in St. John's, Newfoundland. Marilyn's stories, poems and articles have appeared in children's magazines and anthologies in Canada and the United States. Her published books include picturebooks, chapter books, novels, riddle books and retold fairy tales. David Parkins has illustrated numerous children's books. He also does editorial illustrations, political cartoons, and strip cartoons.
David lives in Selby, North Yorkshire.
