Susie Rich was raised in Cincinnati, Ohio, and has spent her career working in the social work/homelessness prevention field. At the age of 20, she began to seriously pursue her writing career in the short story and novel markets and has enjoyed success in publishing Beauties, The Eye of the Beholder, a short story, for an Ohio magazine. Now a published author, she has written many short stories and is also working on a novel.
She currently resides outside of Boston, Massachusetts, with her husband.
Iván Espinoza-Madrigal is one of Obie's dads. He is an openly gay Latino immigrant with a passion for racial and social justice. He is the executive director of Lawyers for Civil Rights, an organization that provides free legal support to people of color, immigrants, and low-income people. His legal work has been featured in publications such as the New York Times.
His writing has been published by the Boston Globe, WBUR, WGBH, and Huffington Post. He resides in Boston, MA, with his husband, Seth.
