One of Olympia workhorse Desmond's most interesting titles, this book traces the life of Arwel, his mother Gwen, and various adults in their rural UK village. Widowed at an early age by the death of her husband Trevor, Gwen makes a go of things, first with the owner of a foodstuffs company where she works, later with a music instructor, and with varying managers of her employer. Gwen is a very determined widow, and somewhere along the way, Arwel achieves his own sexual awakening.
