The Technology for longer film was developed through the period 1906-10. One of the consequences of this longer running time was that procession footage became ever more boring because it was static. For one inglorious moment ANYTHING became an excuse for a chase (which was just a procession moving more quickly through the frame). Longer run times meant you could have multiple shots of chases in different locations.
The way humans interpret time meant these would be percieved as a continuation of the same chase."Movie Chronicles: 1906" explores the development of film technology over the year of 1906 through the reviewing of releases from around the world, and their interactions with history.
