"Try to think like a chess player",  that's what Uwe said. This caused me to rethink the way I play chess and refine it into underlying rules to play the perfect game. Which turned out to be this book. These rules outline the mindset that if you observe them you're going to win the game and make progress in both chess and life. This book sums the basics of the winning mentality of an army commander.
This is strategy level and tactics come at a lower level than this. You have to play your games on this level first and only then engage in calculating lines, tactics and evaluation. This book gives you the strategy, mindset and the way to think to play the perfect chess game and get to your highest potential. This book is also a self-help book. I've brought real-life examples and what is the correct mentality to have in those situations.
