Richard Hughes graduated from Massachusetts Maritime Academy with a B. S. in Marine Transportation, then obtained an M. S. from Lesley University. He operated a safety training center on Cape Cod with his wife & fellow author Lavinia M. Hughes. He wrote Deep Sea Decisions and the Cape Safety, Inc. - Danger Dogs Series-a collection of 10 novels detailing the exciting lives of a top-notch safety consulting firm based in Woods Hole, MA, employing actual technological stories from the news that his characters use to solve global problems.
Lavinia M. Hughes, with an A. S. from Massasoit Community College, is the author of An iGen Cookbook for the Unskilled, an instructional cookbook. She has written 4 books of paranormal short stories: Enter Through the Crawlspace, Enter Through the Bulkhead, Enter Through the Alleyway, and her latest, Enter Through the Porthole, which treats the reader to a new set of paranormal short stories, bringing back some of her earlier characters with a side dish of horror.
The couple has co-authored Newtucket Island, Training Ship, and Cape Car Blues. Mikey Mayflower - The Early Years, is a prequel to the popular Cape Car Blues. They live and write in their home in the seaside village of Waquoit, MA.
