May, 2011... Someone has predicted the second coming of Christ. For the small Oklahoma town of Mackleberry Ridge, it is not the return of Christ that rocks the scene. It is the return of Val Mackleberry. For ten years, Val Mackleberry has worked to create the life she thought she wanted. She made strides to be better than those she left behind, to prove to herself that she was not as crazy as the rest of the women in her family.
Somewhere along the way, she lost who she was. When she decides a trip home is the litmus test to prove she hasn't succumbed to the genetic loopiness a Mackleberry woman is known for, Val will come to learn what is true about herself and the women she has kept at a distance for so long.
