London, 1878 Lily, Lady Bradden, is a woman with secrets. Fleeing her ruthless husband and a dark past, she finds unlikely refuge in Madame Chambon's Pleasure House, though she is not required to work in the flesh trade like Madame Chambon's other 'Fallen Angels'. Forced to pose as a clairvoyant to summon the spirit of a nobleman's dead daughter whom she closely resembles, Lily walks a dangerous line between deception and survival. Hamish McTavish, the principled editor of "Manners and Morals Magazine, " is determined to expose Lily as a fraud.
But his resolve wavers as an undeniable attraction sparks between them, challenging everything he believes. As Lily and Hamish navigate their forbidden desires, a sinister plot unfolds. A murder at the pleasure house. A threatening Russian diplomat. And Lily's husband, who wants her silenced-permanently. With her past closing in and her future uncertain, Lily must place her trust in the one man who doubts her most.
Can Hamish uncover the truth before it's too late? Or will the lies that brought them together ultimately tear them apart? "Loving Lily" is a seductive blend of passion and peril, where nothing is as it seems and love might be the most dangerous gamble of all. It's Book 6 in the Fair Cyprians of London series but can be read as a standalone. What readers are saying: "A journey into the strange-I loved it!""Excellent villains and a super hero...
A great addition to the series."

À propos de l'auteur

Biographie de Beverley Oakley

Beverley Oakley was seventeen when she bundled up her first her 500+ page romance and sent it to a publisher. Unfortunately drowning her heroine on the last page was apparently not in line with the expectations of romance readers so Beverley became a journalist. Twenty-six years later Beverley was delighted to receive her first publishing contract from Robert Hale (UK) for a romance in which she ensured her heroine was saved from drowning in the icy North Sea.
Since 2009 Beverley has written more than thirteen historical romances, mostly set in England during the early nineteenth century. Mystery, intrigue and adventure spill from their pages and if she can pull off a thrilling race to save someone's honour - or a worthy damsel from the noose - it's time to celebrate with a good single malt Scotch. Beverley lives with her husband, two daughters and a Rhodesian Ridgeback puppy the size of a pony opposite a picturesque nineteenth century lunatic asylum.
She also writes Africa-set adventure-filled romances tarring handsome bush pilot heroes, and historical romances with less steam and more sexual tension, as Beverley Eikli.
