Flume was born selkie. She was also born deformed - which means that the sea is as dangerous to her as the land. Beka's physical differences don't make for easy friendships. Instead she patrols the beaches for TurtleWatch, reporting on nests and hatchings. When Beka finds Flume washed up on the beach, she knows the younger girl is in serious danger. But can Flume trust a human to help her when, all her life, she's been told to guard against them?
