Littérature Fantastique Belge Et Belgitude has a dual objective: first, to discover the Francophone Belgian fantastic universe of Jean Ray, in order to examine the essence of the 'fantastic' in his works, through his collection of fantastic short stories Le Grand Nocturne; and second, to examine the traits of 'belgitude', in other words, to reveal how the Belgian national identity crisis is reflected in the works of Jean Ray.
This book highlights the genius of the Belgian author Jean Ray and also explores the relationship between francophone Belgian fantastic universe of the author Jean Ray and the historical movement of belgitude.
