Kian's is a bonus book to the House of Lions Series. Kian and Luna's backstory is covered in the House of Lions series. Although part of the same world and therefore interconnected, the three new stories of the Lions at Dawn Series can be read individually (ideally in the order in which they were written). Reading the House of the Lions Series before the Lions at Dawn Series is highly recommended, especially if you want to know more about Kian and Luna's tumultous history.
