What would you do for £3, 000, 000?Despite being dead, Tara's Celtic tiger mother finally has real leverage over her wilfully disobedient daughter. Her Last Will and Testament provides that unless one of her four daughters has a baby within the next two years, their cousin will inherit everything. Tara, 31-year-old dreamer, amateur photographer and waitress, has never failed to disappoint her mother.
Now she's furious: she knows the condition in the Will is meant for her - her other sisters are far too busy living their wildly successful lives to have time for procreation. She's never seriously considered the question of motherhood, and her boyfriend Aidan isn't very keen on the idea. But there's a lot of money at stake... Over the next twelve months, Tara struggles with sibling coercion, an increasingly distant boyfriend - and the confusing relationship she has with Luis, the wealthy art dealer who's more than happy to help her fulfil the condition in the Will.
Her life becomes increasingly complicated as she's forced to confront the big question every woman must make at some point in her life: do I want to be a mother? An hilarious, poignant novel about mothers, sisters and lovers - and self-love.

À propos de l'auteur

Biographie de Fi Whyms

Fi Whyms has lived in a 15th century château in SW France for many years and is still discovering fuse-boxes she wasn't previously aware of.  She shares her home with her husband, five cats, seven chickens, several generations of barn owls and a slightly obese family of hedgehogs. She is also a keen horsewoman (albeit with no sense of direction) and spends many hours on horseback lost in the Cognac vineyards of rural France.
Before coming to live in France she worked in London as an M&A lawyer, and is therefore especially qualified to speak on the subject of sociopaths and investment bankers.
