Jen Morel is just barely keeping things together for herself and her kids. Just as she's navigating the landscape of being a divorcee and single mom, she finds out her favorite aunt has passed away. Stricken with grief, an inheritance could be her pathway to a new life. Going back to Seagull Cove fills Jen with fond memories of the beach, the sweet small town, and her eccentric Aunt Judy. Spending summers there had been a joy. Moving there permanently with her two kids seemed like the right thing to do, but she was worried about uprooting them. She hoped and prayed that one day they'd come to love the place just like she had. Until that day, though, she'd have to do all she could to make this move work for them. But right off the bat there's an issue. She makes an enemy when a local businesswoman wants to buy the building Jen has inherited. Making it clear that she's not selling gives her a feeling she hasn't heard the last of that. When a question about the will comes up, it looks like Jen's life got more complicated instead of less. Her plan was to leave the complications behind. She wished desperately there had been some way she could have found out the truth before jumping into the deep end without a life jacket. To make everything infinitely worse, she finds that her aunt had secrets. Several secrets in fact. Will Jen have the guts to fight for what's rightfully hers? And will the secrets keep her from finding the balance she so desperately needs?
