Young financial consultant from San Francisco involves himself in the investigation of his friend's death at a cabin in the Sierra Nevada mountains. A young financial consultant, Matt Handley, who lives and works in San Francisco, bumps into an old college friend at one of his favorite restaurants in the city. At lunch, Steve invites Matt to a weekend at his cabin in the Sierras, and when Matt arrives Steve promptly disappears.
When Steve's body is found in the dam spillway, Matt is drawn into the mystery of his friend's death. Unable to move on without a resolution, Matt revisits the small town in the Sierras many times to find out what really happened, only to put his own life in great danger
