I Only Cuss When I'm Sailing is a memoir about a couple's move from landlocked Montana to a sailboat on the West Coast. They will fix up the old boat, learn to sail, and set off for the Caribbean. The idea started while they were renovating an old mining town brothel. Rae Ellen Lee and her husband, Tom, dreamed up a novel to co-author and set the story on St. John in the U. S. Virgin Islands. After a book research trip to the island, they sell their house and buy a boat. But things don't go as planned. The book is about taking risks and making changes, told from the viewpoint of a reluctant first mate with a candid and humorous perspective.
