Therefore, the series of books closely follow the book of Revelation's account of what will happen during the apocalyptic times; however, the story interprets through the lens of modern technology, modern civilizations rationality and irrationality.
Therefore, you will encounter many very disturbing events. If you do not believe in the Bible, you will find a society struggling with nihilism yet still working to use existentialisms call to create some form of meaning despite the emptiness of the universe. Some of the characters cope well, many do not.
