Red Rum. Red rum. Redrum. RedruM. The name of the academy isn't the only thing that struck me as strange when the principal addressed the assembly of new students. My defenses were up from the moment I was tagged with a microchip and told I was sitting among the most lethal super beings ever known. I didn't balk when I discovered that the species of students attending was not limited to the two-legged human kind or when I learned that the missions we were preparing for saw some students never return. Those details aside, I had far greater issues to worry about. I had no memory of my life before the age of seven, and whatever powers I may possess were trapped on the other side of the blockage. Making enemies seemed to be my only consistent talent until I came face to face with the school bully, scaring no one more than myself when I knocked him on his ass and burst into flames. Don't ask me how, because even I don't have the answer. All I know is that I signed up for a school promising qualifications in bringing justice to those deserving-however, they left out a few major details, such as the only known way to graduate was via a pine box. On the plus side, Colton is the hottest guy on campus, and he likes me. Add Jinx, my fae best friend, to the mix, and Red Rum Academy may not be so bad after all.
