This text on the history and praxis of Eastern Orthodoxy (volume 1) is intended to help you understand the lengthy process followed by the Orthodox Church since its formative stage in the first century, passing through the important, and for Orthodox churches, crucial, Byzantine period, to its present day position. By tracing the history of the church in this way, I will also try to show that the contemporary Orthodox Church has a historical link with the original and early Christian community.

Biographie de Ángel Francisco Sánchez Escoba

Ángel Francisco Sánchez Escobar, nacido el 21 de noviembre de 1951, se licenció en Filología Hispánica y Filología Anglogermánica por la Universidad de Sevilla, su ciudad natal. Completó estudios de Máster en Literatura Hispano-americana, Máster en Pedagogía y Doctorado en Didáctica del Inglés en Vanderbilt University (Nashville, Estados Unidos), donde fue Profesor de Español durante seis años (1978-84).
Al regresar a España, obtuvo dos nuevos doctorados en la Universidad de Sevilla, uno en Filología Inglesa (debido a sus estudios de Vanderbilt) y, otro, en Literatura Española. En dicha universidad, trabajó como profesor durante casi treinta años. Tiene también un Doctorado en Teología de St. Stephen Harding Theological College and Seminary (Winston-Salem, North Carolina, EE. UU) y otros muchos estudios teológicos.
Fue ordenado Interfaith Minister en New York, Estados Unidos (2004), presbítero en Kiev, Ucrania (2005) y consagrado obispo en Sudáfrica (2007).
