This book gives a glimpse of West Bengal. West Bengal is a state in the eastern region of India along the Bay of Bengal. With over 91 million inhabitants, it is India's fourth-most populous state and the fourteenth-largest state by area. It borders Bangladesh in the east, and Nepal and Bhutan in the north. It also borders the Indian states of Odisha, Jharkhand, Bihar, Sikkim, and Assam. The state capital is Kolkata, the third-largest metropolis, and seventh-largest city by population in India.
West Bengal includes the Darjeeling Himalayan hill region, the Ganges delta, the Rarh region, and the Sundarbans. The state's main ethnic group are the Bengalis. We are going to present West Bengal in a circuitous route in this book, starting from Kolkata, moving north towards Murshidabad via Mayapur, further up to Darjeeling and North Bengal and then moving south via the western part of Bengal. I have tried to cover almost all the tourist places of West Bengal and they are Kolkata and Nearby Places, Krishnanagar, Mayapur, Nabadweep, Murshidabad, Siliguri, Dooars, Coochbihar, Kalimpong, Lava, Lolegaon, Darjeeling, Mirik, Maldah, Gour, Tarapeeth, Shantiniketan, Ayodhya Pahar, Mukutmanipur, Jhargram, Midnapur, Bankura, Bishnupur, Tamluk and Digha.
There is all the information about accommodation, restaurants and conducted tours in this book. In the last, the book provides two sample itineraries to cover the whole of West Bengal.
